Overview

The Kuari Pass Trek, also known as the Curzon Trail, is one of the most scenic and rewarding Himalayan treks in Uttarakhand. Located in the Chamoli district, the trek reaches an altitude of approximately 12,500 ft and offers breathtaking views of some of the most iconic Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi, Dronagiri, Kamet, and Hathi-Ghoda. The trek passes through dense oak and rhododendron forests, open alpine meadows, and remote mountain villages.

Day-wise Itinerary

Day 0

Delhi to Joshimath

  • Departure from Delhi at 9:00 pm
  • Pick-up from Akshardham Metro Station
  • Overnight journey towards Joshimath

Day 1

Arrival at Joshimath & Drive to Dhak Village

  • Drive to Dhak village, the trek starting point
  • Check-in to campsite or guesthouse
  • Acclimatization walk
  • Dinner and overnight stay
Meals: Dinner

Day 2

Dhak to Gulling Top

  • Early morning breakfast
  • Start trek towards Gulling Top
  • Walk through oak and rhododendron forests
  • Lunch during the trek
  • Reach campsite by afternoon

Day 3

Gulling Top to Kuari Pass to Khullara Camp

  • Early morning breakfast
  • Trek towards Kuari Pass summit
  • Enjoy panoramic Himalayan views
  • Lunch during the trek
  • Descend towards Khullara campsite
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Snacks & Dinner

Day 4

Khullara to Dhak | Drive to Joshimath

  • Breakfast at campsite
  • Descend trek back to Dhak village
  • Lunch
  • Drive back to Joshimath
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 5

Joshimath to Delhi

  • Early morning breakfast
  • Begin return journey to Delhi
  • Lunch en route
  • Arrival in Delhi late night or early morning (tentative)
