Overview
The Brahmatal Trek is one of the most scenic winter treks in Uttarakhand, known for its snow-covered trails, frozen alpine lakes, and uninterrupted views of major Himalayan peaks. Located in the Chamoli district, the trek reaches an altitude of approximately 12,250 ft and offers spectacular views of Mt Trishul, Mt Nanda Ghunti, and parts of the Nanda Devi range. What sets Brahmatal apart is the combination of forest trails, high-altitude meadows, and the beautiful Brahmatal Lake, which often freezes during peak winter months.
Day-wise Itinerary
Day 0
Delhi to Rishikesh
- Departure from Delhi at 9:00 pm
- Pick-up from Akshardham Metro Station
- Overnight journey towards Rishikesh
Day 1
Rishikesh to Lohajung
- Early morning arrival at Rishikesh
- Freshen up and breakfast
- Scenic drive through Devprayag, Karnaprayag, and Chamoli
- Lunch en route
- Arrival at Lohajung by evening
Meals: Dinner
Day 2
Lohajung to Bekaltal Campsite
- Early morning breakfast
- Begin trek from Lohajung towards Bekaltal
- Trek through oak and rhododendron forests
- Lunch during the trek
- Reach Bekaltal campsite by afternoon

Day 3
Bekaltal to Brahmatal to Brahmatal Top
- Early morning breakfast
- Trek towards Brahmatal Lake
- Walk through open snowfields and alpine meadows
- Visit Brahmatal Lake
- Continue ascent to Brahmatal Top
- Enjoy panoramic views of Mt Trishul and Mt Nanda Ghunti

Day 4
Brahmatal to Lohajung
- Early morning breakfast
- Begin descent towards Lohajung
- Trek through forest trails
- Lunch during the trek
- Reach Lohajung by afternoon

Lohajung to Rishikesh to Delhi
- Early morning breakfast
- Drive towards Rishikesh
- Lunch en route
- Begin overnight return journey to Delhi
