
Overview
The Kedarnath Dham Yatra is one of the most sacred and spiritually significant journeys in India. Situated at an altitude of approximately 11,755 ft in the Garhwal Himalayas, Kedarnath Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva and forms an important part of the Char Dham Yatra. Surrounded by towering snow-clad peaks and the Mandakini River, the destination offers a deeply moving blend of devotion, endurance, and Himalayan grandeur.
Day-wise Itinerary
Day 0
Delhi to Guptkashi
- Departure from Delhi at 9:00 pm
- Pick-up from Akshardham Metro Station
- Overnight journey towards Guptkashi
Day 1
Guptkashi / Sonprayag Arrival
- Morning arrival at Guptkashi or Sonprayag
- Freshen up and breakfast
- Rest and acclimatization
- Visit to local temples if time permits
Meals: Dinner
Day 2
Sonprayag to Gaurikund to Kedarnath
- Early morning breakfast
- Drive from Sonprayag to Gaurikund
- Begin trek from Gaurikund to Kedarnath, approx 16 km
- Lunch during the trek
- Arrival at Kedarnath by evening
- Check-in to accommodation
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 3
Kedarnath Darshan and Return to Sonprayag
- Early morning temple darshan
- Attend morning aarti if time permits
- Breakfast
- Begin descent trek from Kedarnath to Gaurikund
- Lunch during descent
- Drive back to Sonprayag or Guptkashi
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
Day 4
Sonprayag / Guptkashi to Delhi
- Early morning breakfast
- Begin return journey to Delhi
- Lunch en route
- Arrival in Delhi late night or early morning (tentative)
